Ryan C. Perry, age 31, of Lexington, KY, passed away on Thursday May 13, 2021 in Louisville.
Ryan graduated from Corbin High School in 2008. He then joined the United States Navy in 2011. Ryan served as a corpsman at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Sigonella, Italy from 2012 to 2014. His service continued at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland from 2014 to 2016. While stationed in Bethesda, Maryland, Ryan also worked with the Rockville Fire Department as an EMT certified first responder. He loved fiercely and was fiercely loved. He was a loyal friend, loving son and brother. He devoted his life to the care of others.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Truman Perry, and by his grandparents, Phillip Ray Thompson, Truman Ray Perry, and Anna McCreary Perry.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Selina Thompson Perry; sister, Megan Perry (Devin), grandmother, Gracie Thompson; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
Funeral service for Ryan C. Perry will be held at 12noon on Wednesday May 19, 2021 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Weyman McGuire officiating. Those unable to attend may be able to view the funeral on Facebook Live on the funeral home's Facebook page.
Burial will follow in the Perry Cemetery in Whitley County, KY, with military honors by the Corbin American Legion Post #88.
